We are part of the Yorkshire Collaboartaive Academy Trust made up of Askwith, Bilton Grange, Lothersdale, Bradley’s Both, Hawes and Leyburn Primary Schools. As part of YCAT we benefit from having quality, supportive leadership and continued professional development for all staff. This includes delivering bespoke training in many aspects of school improvement ranging from supporting and training middle leaders to embedding assessment for learning in all lessons. Being a member of YCAT also means that we are in a position to provide our services to other schools. Services, delivered through our membership of HARTs includes Research and Development, Initial Teacher Training, Teaching and Learning expertise and Middle Leadership Development. Our headteacher has been trained by the National College of School Leadership on delivering the Middle Leadership Development Programme to aspiring middle leaders. He is also an ILM level 5 coach and an Ofsted inspector.
Our federation has been in exisitence since 2016 and is a thriving, self-sustaining entity. The inclusion of highly regarded nurseries at both settings enhance our core offer. Our headteacher, Nick Coates, is executive head of both schools and splits his time equally between the two schools.
